Here is what I found out from them: 1.) There is nothing in their service books for changing of this fluid and it does not show them how. 2.) Upon pressing them, they said they would change the fluid in my manual transmission, but VW considered that a lifetime component that did not need servicing.
Part 1: Filter. Remove the two plastic covers on top of the engine. (Feel for the grommets - they both just pull straight up out of the grommets.) Using a 32mm socket, unscrew the top cover of the oil filter housing, which is on the front of the engine with the cover pointing straight up. The old oil filter will come out with the cover. Start the car and run through the gears on the ramp and back into P, let the car run and using VCDS monitor the gearbox temp until it gets to 35deg, then remove the bung and drain. This will set the level. They just can't be bothered to do it. It's the same procedure as a dsg service only you don't drain the oil. Yes I know it can be checkedGen 5 Haldex Kit Includes.
